The reception was held to honour volunteers who give up their time every year to sell poppies for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal which helps to provide support to veterans and their families.
Speaking after the reception, the Mayor said: “Every year Poppy Appeal volunteers give of their time to raise money for this extremely worthy cause.
"This was just a small token of my appreciation as Mayor for the time given by Lisburn Royal British Legion volunteers, as they raised over £50,000 this year. An incredible sum!”
