THE Smiths were an indie pop band which formed in 1982 in Manchester.
The band consisted of Steven Morrissey (vocals, lyrics), Johnny Marr (guitar, music), Mike Joyce (drums) and Andy Rourke (bass). Hugely influential, they were the definitive British rock band of the ‘80’s, marking the end of synth-driven new wave and the beginning of the guitar rock that dominated English rock into the ‘90’s.
These Charming Men from Dublin were formed in 1995 and to this day continue to charm fans of The Smiths and Morrissey all around the globe with their finely tuned energetic and passionate live shows. They are classed as one of the premier Smiths and Morrissey tribute bands or acts around at the moment.
Regular visitors to Belfast, These Charming Men are a must see for all Smiths and Morrissey fans and return to the city to mark the 30th anniversary of the band forming, to play Belfast’s newest music venue VOODOO on Friday May 11. It’s a night no fan can miss.
