A galaxy of stars is set to light up the new season at Belfast Waterfront and The Ulster Hall. And far from being light years away, fans will find themselves almost within touching distance as they enjoy the latest and greatest stars of music, comedy and more up close.
Music fans will be over the moon with the quality and variety of Belfast-bound star names. Russell Watson - the UK’s best selling classical music artist - gets ‘Up Close and Personal’ on 24 November. This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s greatest tenors and the ‘godfather of classical crossover’ as you’ve never heard him before.
Also among the stars aligning to take centre stage are Lulu (10 October); Art Garfunkel (14 September); Don McLean (30 September); The Waterboys (27 October); Nils Lofgren (1 November); Stiff Little Fingers (14 November) Andy Fairweather Low and The Lowriders (11 September); folk icon Judy Collins (9 October) and Motown hits machine The Drifters (23 October).
From big stars to big bands, the Glenn Miller Orchestra (25 October) is guaranteed to get the audience in the mood! The UK’s greatest big band will perform a nostalgic selection of fabulous Forties music, wartime favourites and Frank Sinatra classics at a special afternoon concert.

Flares, platforms, big collars and even bigger hair are back in vogue as many of the sensational Seventies’ genre-defining hits are brought back to life! Make a diary date for ‘blockbuster’ gigs by Talon - The Best Of Eagles (8 October), Sweet and Mud II (7 November), Slade (8 December) and Bay City Rollers Starring Les McKeown (13 December). Meanwhile the group that started the pop revolution a decade earlier is superbly showcased by The Bootleg Beatles on 3 October.
Bringing us bang up to date is perpetual hit maker, Will Young (9 November); chart rockers Bullet For My Valentine (28 September) and ‘modfather’ Paul Weller (16 November), whose indelible music footprint now spans an incredible five decades.
There’s no shortage of star quality on offer when it comes to the Comedy Club at the Waterfront and Ulster Hall, which once again brings the biggest names and finest new talent to the stand-up stage. First up is Daniel Sloss (24 September) who brings his new show to the Waterfront direct from a sell-out run at this month’s Edinburgh Fringe. Fans will also laugh out loud and often at Jimeoin (24 October), Ruby Wax (3 and 4 November), Pam Ann: Queen of the Sky (12 November), Al Murray - The Pub Landlord (18 November), Alan Carr (26 - 29 November), Stewart Francis (1 December) and Des Bishop (11 December).
