The members of Banbridge Community Choir, Accolade, have been praised following a concert which took place last week at the Grace Generation Church on the Lurgan Road.
Ulster Unionist Assembly Candidate Jo-Anne Dobson, who attended the concert, said: “We were given a real treat, an evening of music, talent and song from the Banbridge and Newry Choirs accompanied by their musical Directors Vessie and Nikolay Ivanov and accomplished harpist Sharon Carroll.
“The members of Accolade Choir are making a real difference in our community and this Concert marked the end of their hugely successful Care Home Connections Project.
“As part of this project the Choir visited residents and staff at seven local care homes and one local Elders group, singing for them and inspiring them through song.
“I was delighted to join them last year on their visit to Seapatrick Care Home and know first-hand the real difference which they are making to people’s lives. I’m proud to have been with them from the beginning and to have hosted them at Christmas time in the Great Hall at Stormont.
“I send my grateful thanks to the Choir for their kind invitation to once again join with them and support their important work at the Banbridge concert.
“Through the leadership of the immensely talented duo of Nikolay and Vessie Ivanov Accolade continues to go from strength to strength.
“Well done also to Paul Cupples from Grace Generation in Banbridge for being the perfect host for a truly amazing evening concert.
“The Banbridge choir practice every Thursday evening at 7pm in the Community Room at the Tesco Extra Store at the Outlet – I know they would very much welcome new members to help them to continue their work.”
