Young Seconds team holds on to beat Kilkeel with great performance

This weekend Banbridge Seconds played at home against Kilkeel Seconds and after a 3-3 draw in Newry a win was needed.

Again starting slowly Banbridge started to build up play with fast passes from every member of the squad. This gave the skillful Bill Malcomson the chance to slot the ball into the back of the net.

break

After going a goal up Banbridge started to slack off and Kilkeel made a break, putting a shot past Peter Bingham.

Banbridge again started to build up the intensity but no more goals before half time. The score at the break was 1-1.

After a motivational half time team talk Banbridge restart better than ever. Soon after youngster Kyle Marshall used his silky 3D skills to fires the ball into the back of the net with a reverse hit.

Banbridge were on top again controlling the play of the ball with some great runs up the left and right hand side. They were finally able to get the ball to Mack to smash the ball into the back of the net from a ridiculous angle.

mistakes

Banbridge began to slack off again and with some defensive mistakes Kilkeel were close again. But Banbridge got away with it as the whistle blew while Kilkeel were on the attack.

The final score was 3-2 to the young Banbridge side. Thanks again to the umpire, Glenn Marshall.
