The much-loved Banbridge 10k and Fun Run takes place, again starting and ending at Havelock Park.

Last year, over 800 runners took part with Irishman Desi Foley coming out on top of the pile. He chipped in a time of 35 minutes 22 seconds, 47 seconds ahead of nearest challenger Nigel McKibbin from Dromore.

In the 2014 Fun Run, Banbridge Academy’s star runner Patrick McNiff sprinted round the 4k course in just 13:41, over a minute ahead of his Banbridge AC team-mate Caolan Quinn.

In the wheelchair race, Jim Corbett and Paul Hannan coasted to a finish of 36:01 and 36:02 respectively.

Can anyone beat those times this year?

You can still be a part of it by registering on the day between 4.30pm and 6.15pm. Registration fee on the night is £16 for the 10k and £8 for the Fun Run.

According to the ABC council, the car park at Havelock will be closed from 5pm to 10pm. Motorists will, however, be able to avail of the parking facilities at Banbridge Academy.
