Winning streak continues for Premier Reserves

Tullylish 1-16

Bredagh 0-10

TULLYLISH Premier Reserves recorded a well deserved victory over Bredagh at a blustery Pairc na ng on Sunday last.

Despite playing against the breeze in the first half, it was the home side who opened the scoring through a fine solo effort from Kevin McCartan.

Both teams traded points and were locked on three points each after the opening quarter. It was Tullylish’s ability to obtain primary possession in the middle third, through Thompson and McKivergan, which allowed them to supply the lively forward line of Arlow, McGovern and Justin McCartan with scoring chances.

Indeed it was McGovern’s personal tally of three points in the opening half as well as Kevin McCartan’s further four points which gave the home side a well deserved lead at half time.

To their credit, Bredagh started the sharpest and registered the first three points of the second half. The Tullylish response was immediate.

Great build up play from Feeney, McDermott and Rooney allowed Seamy O’Hare to land a high ball into the square only to be cutely flicked over the ‘keeper’s head from the clinical Eamon Morgan.

In the next attack, Bredagh were gifted a life-line penalty to restore their chance of a come back. However a brilliant double save from Martin Savage in the Tullylish goals prevented such a comeback.

As the game moved into the final quarter McGovern, O’Hare and McCartan availed of the constant supply of ball from the hard-working defensive unit of Rooney, Scullion and McManus to register further scores and increase the lead to nine.

This was a well deserved win for the Premier reserves who gave a great team performance to register another win for the management trio of Eamonn Connolly, Kevin Murphy and Sean Fegan.
