THE Bus Bar returned to the district Pool League with an emphatic win over another old league side.

D McAlinden got the season off to the perfect start with victory in frame one and was quickly followed up by J Mulligan and D Mulligan.

The First and Last tried to make a fight of the match when Brian and Paul Lyness pulled the game back to 3-2 but the home side took control as A McCartan, N McMurran and K Dowd all came out on top in their matches.

Planters 2

Imperial Inn 6

A great away performance from the Imperial has shown just what their intensions are this year.

The opening two frames were shared between D McCreanor for the Imperial and Simon Stokes for the Planters.

S Kerr and A Corbett gave the Imperial a two frame advantage. Chris Patience took frame five to tighten the game up but this proved to be the last success for the home side on the night as the visitors strolled to victory by taking the final three frames through J McCahon, B Kerr and M Clydesdale.

Castle B 5

Anglers Rest B 3

In a very tight match that at one stage looked as if it was going the way of the Anglers eventually went to the home side.

I Blevins gave the visitors an early lead but that was turned over by J Harper and C McSherry. Back came the Anglers and they restored their lead through S Chambers and BJ McAnarney.

The Castle then came to life and took the remaining three frames through G McGuinness , S Steenson and D Corbett.

Mulholland’s B 5

Coach B 3

Mulholland’s were another team to get off to the perfect start this season as they took care of the traveling Coach with a strong finish to the match.

The home side won the opening two frames through Alan Currie and James Aberham, but they quickly found themselves 3-2 down as R Hunter, B Doherty and A Dean were all winners for the visitors.

The Dromore side hit back in style through Paul Winters, Ashley Moore and Mark McCormack and took all the points.

O’Reillys B 5

Market Bar B 3

O’Reilly’s got off to a winning start against a strong Market side and will be a team to watch out for in this division this year.

Kevin Conlon got the ball rolling in the first but the home side were pegged back in the next by A Murray.

The O’Reilly’s team showed they have a great mid-game side as they took the next three frames through Ruiari McGrath, Sean Conlon and Decky McConville.

The Market pulled it back to with one frame as G Hutchinson and J Ferguson were on top in their games.

Up stepped Conor Russell to secure the win and the points for the O'Reilly’s team.

Montagu Legends 4

Donaghcloney Legion 4

In the only drawn match in the opening round of fixtures it saw a brand new team from Tandragee up against an old stalwart from Donaghcloney.

As the result suggests there was never any more than a frame between these two teams with the winners for the Legends being Jordon Church, Tam Bell, Ronnie Weir and Richard Gibson and for the Legion C Morton, G Murphy, A Clarke and N Wilson.
