Understrength Village are held by Crewe

Seapatrick started the first half brighterand sharper by stringing a couple of moves together and threatened the Crewe goal in the first 15 minutes.

After early possession from Seapatrick, Crewe started to attack the Village goal but was denied by the resilience and disciplined back five of Seapatrick.

Crewe opened the scoring on the 30th minute through a quick counter attack. Seapatrick were close to scoring just after this but only for the crossbar to deny Keith McVitty.

The village scored the second goal of the match through McVitty blasting the ball into the net on the 40th minute.

Crewe were threatening the Village goal for the first 10 minutes of the second half. After the pressure from Crewe, Seapatrick kicked themselves into action with a couple of chances of their own but could not capitalise on these.

Crewe then went on to score their second goal on the hour mark through a well worked free kick.

After this, Seapatrick stepped up the pressure and kept plugging away at the Crewe goal to find an equaliser.

The Village got their rewards for this in the 70th minute with a well struck finish from Andrew Chambers to make it 2-2.

Crewe then forced a fine save from Paul McGrath who did well to keep the scores equal. Seapatrick pushed on for the winner in the final minutes but the Crewe defence was resilient right to final whistle which meant the Village gained a vital point away from home.

This showed that Seapatrick had grit, determination and character to come back twice in a game and show they can compete with any team in the Mid-Ulster Intermediate A League.
