U9s take on Oxford and Amateurs

BANBRIDGE Town U9s continued their development games in Brownstown on Saturday morning with two games against Oxford and Dromore Amateurs Youth.

In their first game Banbridge played a well organised Oxford team, In a very open game Banbridge went a goal down early on but soon got back on level terms when Jack Murray and Ryan Meara combined to find Adam Hamilton who finished superbly in the corner.

With both teams now going for the win it was an end to end game and Owen Wilson found himself unlucky with an effort which flashed just wide and unfortunately with a few minutes remaining Oxford got a late goal to win 2-1.

In the second game Banbridge came up against Dromore Amateurs and were slow to get started, going 2-0 down early on.

With 15 minutes remaining Banbridge settled down and Patrick McGrath started the comeback with a low drive into the bottom corner.

The Town lads started playing nice attacking football with Kyle Bradford in nets having a fine game and the defensive duo of Lee Whitten and Calum Kermath defending superbly allowing the midfield to get foward at every oppourtunity.

Banbridge soon got on level terms through Adam Hamilton who finished neatly.

With 10 minutes the Town took the lead with Hamilton again scoring and they added a fourth when Brogan McComiskey slotted into the corner.

Dromore pulled one back with the last kick of the ball to leave the score 4 3 to Banbridge.

The young lads played brilliantly in both games and were unlucky in the first game but showed great desire in the second game to come from behind to get the win.
