U17s and U13s travel to Cavan

DROMORE U17s and U13s travelled to County Cavan RFC on Saturday morning and played some outstanding rugby.

Cavan 6 Dromore U17s 26 - Dromore U17s started their Cup game very slowly and conceded a penalty to the home team quite early on.

A stern word from coach Ian McDonald spurred on the Dromore men and soon the pack started to dominate all the play young Rosbottom was in his element on all the loose ball and with quick hands to scrum hal Adam McDonald the backs were let loose for their first try under the posts.

TJ Morris was in excellent form and will give the Ireland out-half a run for his money should Declan Kidney need cover at next week’s game in Italy.

Other players worthy of note are Adam Reany and Peter Dorman great talking from both these players helped secure the win well played all concerned.

Cavan 0 Dromore U13s 83 - Dromore U13s were all geared up for Saturdays match and their Mid week training session really paid off as they scored at will in the first half.

Peter O’Connor getting the try of the season he picked the ball up from his own five meter line and ran the entire length of the pitch needing only two side steps to score under the posts.

Matthew Brush was also in fine form and proved he is a great out half in the making, half time saw Dromore leading by 43 points.

The young Eagles soared to new heights in the second half with Rhys Dale and Conor Woods linking up well to move the ball through to man of the match Robin Cantly who scored four tries with one conversion.

A superb game to watch but its back to the training ground on Wednesday night at 7pm for both youth teams as they travel to Randallstown for their final pool game in the Cup competition.

Please be at Dromore RFC on Saturday morning at 9am to leave by bus at 9.15am to travel to Randallstown.
