U16s get league campaign off to a winning start against Antrim

Bann U16B team got their league campaign off to a winning start on Tuesday November 25, when they beat travelling team Antrim U16 21-18 in Banbridge Leisure Centre.

The game started off with both teams well matched however with it being the first match of the season everyone was a little nervous. Bann however did take a little edge leading 8-4 at the end of the first quarter.

With some fantastic interceptions and rebounds by GD Gabrielle Feenan, Bann were able to turn these over with 100% shooting from GS Amy Walsh. Bann extended their lead to 15 - 6 at the end of the 2nd quarter.

Bann battled hard forcing errors which helped Bann to increase the gap to 18 - 11 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The fantastic work rate continued in the last quarter which resulted in Antrim fighting back and forcing Bann to make errors.

Score Bann 21 – 18 Antrim.
