U15s return home after impressive win

Omagh U15s 0

Bann U15s 46

BANN U15s travelled to Omagh for their second away match of the cup campaign.

In near perfect weather conditions Bann played with a slight breeze in their favour in the first half and were soon pressing the Omagh defence.

Strong ball carrying by the back row of Thomas Carlisle, Neal Cochrane and second row forward Jason Lamont resulted in prop forward Matthew Beck crossing the Omagh line for a try.

From the restart Bann continued to press and Cochrane added a second try. After a slick backline move centre James Waugh sprinted through the Omagh defence for a third.

The heavier Omagh pack initially caused Bann some problems but this was shortlived and the Bann team controlled most facets of the game. No conversions were added during the first half.

During the second period Bann’s dominance led to five further tries being scored with Carlisle (2), Josh Coyle (2) and Johnny Adams adding their names to the score sheet. Three conversions were added by out-half Macauley Little.

Although Bann won this game comfortably, with some good individual performances, their next quarter final cup encounter will be a step up in class and will provide a much sterner test.
