U12s lose first home game

Banbridge Town U12s 0

Dromore Amateurs U12s 4

SATURDAY saw Banbridge U12s face Dromore Amateurs in their first home game of the season at Crystal Park.

With the town still fielding a depleted squad through injury the match got off to a bright start with Banbridge having a good run on the ball but unable to break down the Dromore defence.

With the play ebbing and flowing the deadlock was finally broken with Dromore scoring in the 16th minute when they latched onto a Banbridge goal kick.

This goal unsettled the Banbridge side and Dromore piled on the pressure and with a fine break down the left hand side Banbridge conceded an unfortunate goal to make it 2-0 to Dromore right on the half time whistle.

Banbridge regrouped at the start of the second half and surged forward in search of a lifeline to get them back into the game. Banbridge did well to force several corners which the Dromore defence did very well to clear.

These lost opportunities proved costly for Banbridge who were caught on the break and Dromore slotted into an unmarked player in the six yard box who easily dispatched the ball into the net to make it 3-0.

With 10 minutes to go Banbridge were again caught on the break and Dromore made no mistake in securing the victory and making it 4-0.

This week's man of the match was Josh Dennison for a stalwart performance in defence.
