U12s on fire at Pairc na nOg

TULLYLISH brought their shooting boots to Pairc na nOg on Sunday morning as they recorded a high score against a strong looking Rostrevor side to keep up their 100% record in the league.

Straight from the first whistle Tullylish laid down their marker for the game as stong fielding in the middle of the park from Odhran Connolly and Conor Molloy was to prove too much for the visitors.

The home side got of the mark a minute into the game when full-forward Manus Conlon fired over a free after he was fouled 15 yards out.

The midfield duo then hit two points each as ‘Lish raced into a five point lead after just 10 minutes, and they added another when the ever reliable full-back Ben McNally won possession deep in his own half and set up Shea Winters to split the posts.

As the home team piled on the pressure it was only a matter of time before they extended their lead and they got their reward when Caolan Doyle scored a fine point when he hooked the ball over his right shoulder for the score of the game.

A few minutes later Manus Conlon got his second of the day before Ordhan Connolly blasted over from long range and his midfield partner Conor Molloy scored Tullylish’s tenth point as the first half drew to a close.

Any ideas that Rostrevor had of turning this game round was put to bed in the first minute of the second half when Caolan Doyle scored a wonderful goal after a good pass from Conor Molloy and this was followed by an Ordhan Connolly point a minute later.

Tullylish and Caolan Doyle got their second goal of the game as he fired home after a goalmouth scramble, but a lot of credit must to go the industrious Rachel Carbery and Ronan Campbell who both put in great shifts on the half-forward line as Michael Kelly and James Fegan battled and fought for every ball to keep the pressure on Rostrevor.

The visitors to be fair worked hard for their couple of scores as the home side’s defence was on top throughout.

Odhran Connolly scored the final point of the game as Tullylish ran out comfortable winners and seal another win in this impressive start to the season.
