Tullylish see off a spirited Drumaness side

TULLYLISH fought off a spirited Drumaness side on Friday evening to take valuable points in the League clash.

From the throw in the Tullylish forwards were on target and hungry. Shannon Drainey initiated the scoring with two consecutive points from play followed by a goal.

Kevin McCartan took an inspiring point and as Tullylish half forwards attacked the resultant kick out, it was Justin McCartan that intercepted a loose ball, weaved around two Drumaness defenders and slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Just when the game looked like it was going to be very one sided, Drumaness hit a lucky patch, took a point and a goal and this sent a warning message to the home side.

Half backs Michael McCartan, Gareth Johnston and James McDermott blended well to deter the visitors and the lofty kick into the target man up front once again paid dividends as Pete Quinn made no mistake with his shot on goal and Shannon Drainey followed with a pointed free kick to give Tullylish a 3-4 to 1-1 lead.

The visitors were undaunted and hit back with a scored penalty and then a point to lessen the gap. Chris McGovern narrowed the scoreline with two more points from play to give the halftime scoreline Tullylish 3-6 to Drumaness 2-4.

Work had to be done in the second half and Drumaness were unable to further their lead, Tullylish finishing winners 3-10 to 2-6.
