Town wrap up season just hours after Mid-Ulster final

AMAZINGLY Banbridge Town were on the road again some 12 hours after the stamina draining Mid Ulster Cup final when they travelled to Castledawson to fulfill their final league fixture against Moyola Park in a 1pm kick-off.

Understandably it was a very different Town side that lined out, although Timmy Grant and ‘keeper Nathan Morley-Hillen again were in the starting XI.

Indeed had second half sub. Raemeen Loughlin connected properly with a late cross he would surely have secured full points for Town.

Moyola had taken a 20th minute lead through Lucas when his free sailed over the Town wall and into the corner of the net. However they were quickly on level terms when Steven O’Neill sent the home ‘keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after Timmy Grant had been upended in the 21st minute.

Steven O’Neill and Aaron Cobb went close also in the second half but in the end Town had to be content with a well deserved point.

TEAM: Nathan Morley-Hillen, Adam Pedlow, James McConville, Emmet Scullion, Aaron Cobb, Kevin Henry, Ryan Gourley, Brian Adair, Timmy Grant, Dominic Donnelly, Steven O’Neill. Subs (All used): Ian McDowell, Raemeen Loughlin, Sean Montgomery.
