The match was a close affair with neither team prepared to give ground, and the Clann lads took some nice points from play and a well deserved goal.

The back line worked hard, clearing their lines on a number of occasions after attacks from the Bosco, and at half time the Clann lads were only a point behind, going in at 1-3 to 1-4.

The second half started with a Clann attack, with the local lads taking a nice score from play. Newry Bosco however came out from the second half with added vigour, and used the high ball in an attempt to outwit the Clann backs and although a few points went over, the sustained attack by Bosco was quelled by the hard working Clann na Banna back line.

The game ended with a defeat for Clann na Banna, but speaking after the game Clann na Banna manager Paddy Campbell said “The score line doesn’t pay justice to the effort and skill the Clann
