Thomas and Matthew star in Craigavon Shield match

They were up against Edenmore who fielded a very strong team.

Despite the considerable gap in experience, the young lads from Banbridge put up an excellent show.

Patrick Magennis and Matthew Savage played really well over a long and difficult course and both boys halved their games.

Matthew Jamison came very close to doing the same and he finished with half a point.

Callum Barnes, Michael Young, Thomas Magennis and Matthew Young, despite their best efforts, came away empty-handed

The Banbridge team have another match to play, this time against Lisburn. They should enjoy that one. With a good result, they could reach the second stage of the competition. Let’s hope that they can do it.
