Thirds continue their winning ways

COLERAINE Ladies Thirds fielded a strong team at home to face Randalstown on Saturday.

The game started very evenly with the play mainly held In the midfield. Hamil, Agnew and Hughes dominated the play by sending well placed balls to the forwards who unfortunately were not successful to convert.

Victoria Wilson Jr took a great dodge to release Agnew into the circle, and after a goalmouth scramble Coleraine capitalised by slotting theball past a confused keeper.

Coleraine relaxed slightly after this and from open play a high ball confused Harper, McGillen and McCrudden and the Randalstown centre forward took advantage to equalise,

After a great half time talk by the injured McCartney started the second half with full pressure on Randalstown and won numerous short corners. Agnew made no mistake in converting one to put Coleraine ahead.

From this Randalstown got their backs up only to cause a disturbance on the pitch.

Umpire Debbie Millen took no nonsence from the offending player and gave the first yellow card of the season leaving the visiting team down to ten players in the final five minutes.

Coleraine took the upper hand in this situation and continued to apply pressure on Randalstown. A great cross from Jamieson from the right wing made its way into the circle Agnew took a shot and the keeper made a great save, only for the delfection to fall for Julie Hughes who made no mistake in putting the ball in the back of the net making the final score 3-1.

Coleraine would like to thank their umpire Debbie Millen and all the supporters for getting behind their team and encouraging them to a fine win.
