Rathfriland came back into it when they were awarded a penalty on 40 minutes which Chris Frazer duly converted to leave the half time scoreline at 2-1.

In the second half Rathfriland were the better team with Paul Gibbons instrumental in midfield and could have levelled through a Keith Megaw free kick and a header by Lee Mackin which went narrowly wide.

In the last 10 minutes Rathfriland went to three at the back and the home side pushed forward to score two late goals, leaving the final score at 4-1 to the promotion contenders.
