Swifts hit half a dozen

BANBRIDGE Rangers third string travelled to Scarva Park on Saturday to record back to back victories over Scarva Rangers Reserves in the league with a 10 goal aggregate over both games.

After a scrappy start from both teams Rangers striker Neily Wilson broke the deadlock with a top drawer finish from 25 yards into the top corner on 21 minutes.

John McCahon followed up four minutes later with a high speculative effort finding the back off the net with the Scarva keeper blinded by the sun.

McCahon then put the ball through the keepers legs and Mark Dillon capitilised to make it 3-0 just after the half hour mark to make it virtually impossible for Scarva to take any points on their home soil.

The three points were sealed four minutes before the break when a calamity of errors allowed McCahon to score at the third time of asking.

The second half saw McCahon secure his hattrick and goal number 28 for the season and Paul Frazer drilled in a sixth goal on 68 minutes.

The game fizzled out with Scarva being reduced to 10 men and having their manager Freddie McKelvey dismissed for dissent.

This win takes the Gers into second place with just two games remaining and both are against Silverwood United. If Rangers win both games they will be hoping Lurgan Town drop points somewhere in their final three games as they currently sit only two points behind but have a game in hand
