SUNDAY APRIL 28 - Here is a new winner of the Sunday Sweep. James is a fine player but he hasn’t won on Sunday for several years. Maybe he doesn’t play in this sweep too often. That would explain it.

THURSDAY MAY 2, This was the first of the Thursday Open Stableford competitions, which will run until the middle of September. They proved to be very popular last season. Let’s hope that they are well supported this year.

Kerry McCluskey was well pleased to get his name on the winner’s list.

1st, Kerry McCluskey (10) 33; 2nd, Aidan Lavery (18) 32; 3rd, Declan Dooher (14) 30 points.

SUNDAY MAY 5 - John Doran is a regular player in the Sunday Sweep. No one will begrudge John this victory.

Stephen Orr, Darren Barker and John McDowell divided the 2’s pot between themselves.

THURSDAY MAY 9 -William Malcolmson and Philip Mallon both won the Thursday Open on two occasions last season. They had a real ding-dong battle for top spot in this one. William got the upper hand over the closing holes.

1st, William Malcolmson (6) 40; 2nd- Philip Mallon (12) 38.
