Summer season of shooting continues at Rathfriland

Rathfriland Clay Pigeon Club enjoyed another successful night’s shooting on Thursday, 13 June, as the club’s summer season continued.

Despite having made a slow start for 2013, attendances have picked up in recent weeks, with the club enjoying the longer nights, with plenty of 20-bird DTL action.

The usual summery conditions for Northern Ireland were back in full swing too; dull and windy conditions made targets tricky for the shooters, yet there were six who managed the 20/60 score over the eleven lines shot on the night.

The shoot-off was made up of William Robinson, Kenny Thomas, Noel Carson, Raymond Graham and George Gracey. Rathfriland’s Enoch McCauley had also hit the top score, but was unable to stay for the final.

The shoot-off was tense as ever, with light beginning to fade.

However it was George Gracey, who’d found his way into the final after a 20/60 in the night’s final line, who took the win, finishing on another fantastic 20/60.

Final places were as follows;

1st, George Gracey

2nd, Kenny Thomas

3rd, Raymond Graham

Shooting continues next Thursday June 20 commencing at 6pm; all welcome.
