Spring League under way in Kilrea

FOUR rounds of the five have now been completed in the Kilrea Manor Golf Club Spring League.

Eddie O'Kane's team leads the way with 845 points, with Harry Boyle's men close behind with 843. The other two teams are are out of the race, simply because, not enough of their players turned out on the weekends to compile the six scores necessary.

It is disappointing for those in their teams who turned out and registered good scores to no avail.

This format will only work if those members who put their names down to play make the effort to turn up.

It is interesting to note that the leading individual member so far is Brian Doherty on 154 points, with Chris Darragh close behind on 152, both from the teams losing out on players not turning out.

John Keane won the weekend competition on the February 20/21 with 40 points.

Runners up were Joe Turner and Tony McLernon with 39 each, and Brian Doherty won the weekend competition on February 27/28, with 42 points, runner up was Chris Darragh on 41.

A high total of eight twos were posted by six members, C Darragh at the 1st and 10th, A McErlain, at the 10th and 12th , B.Doherty at the 1st, H Boyle at the 10th, D Gray at the 12th, and E O'Kane at the 17th..
