SLIDESHOW: Banbridge Mini-Rugby Festival a roaring success

The home club was joined by Armagh, Dromore and Portadown, with over 700 players aged from 6-12 involved in a series of games.

Bann’s Junior Club Chairman Paul Wright was delighted with how well the Festival had gone. “Our volunteers put in a tremendous amount of work in preparation for what is the biggest annual event in the club. And it paid off with everyone enjoying a great morning’s rugby.

“We had problems getting additional parking facilities, but with the help of the PSNI and our own club marshals we managed to control the large number of visitors as efficiently as possible. I apologise for any inconvenience the local residents may have suffered.

“It was good to have Councillor Glen Barr at the event representing the Council. And we are indebted to our sponsors, Devenish Nutrition, in their second year associated with the Festival.”

The focus of Mini rugby Festivals is on inclusion and fun for all involved and so the only trophy awarded is for Fair Play. The winners this year were Portadown Rugby Club.
