MONEYSLANE’S firsts entertained Queens in a league game at home last week.

A big crowd turned out to watch this one with Slane playing well in a game with six cracking goals in it.

Slane opened the score on the third minute when Neil Wilson hit a good shot that sailed in to the back of the net.

The visitors drew level and were a different outfit on the night compared to when these two teams met early in the season. Slane were up for this game and had chances but Sterritt saw his effort well saved and Bingham clipped his effort just over the bar.

Slane were better in the second half and went in front with another goal from the unlikely source of Neil Wilson.

Queens were rewarded a free kick on the edge of the Slane box and the striker curled it around the wall and into the top corner for a wonder goal.

Slane went in front with a good shot from Chris McConville and with five to go again a free kick 20 yards out was drifted over the wall and into the corner of the net.

Niblock and Davenport both came close and Slane frantically tried for the winner but the points were shared at the end.

Best for Slane on the night was John Davenport at left back.
