Sizzling 
summer of sport in store for children

Banbridge District Council is now taking bookings for a variety of sports courses available to young people across the district as part of this year’s Summer Activity Programme.

Courses in multi-sports, table tennis and angling will commence the first week of July with many more on offer throughout July and August.

The multi-sports course organised in conjunction with the Active Communities Programme will be held at Fairhill Primary School, Kinallen, from July 1-5. Aimed at children aged 5-12 years old the course will run from 10am to 12noon each day.

A table tennis course, which has been organised in conjunction with Table Tennis Ulster, will be held at King George V Playing Fields, Banbridge. Open to young people aged 8-14 the course will run from July 1-5, 10am to 12noon daily.

All courses will be delivered by professional coaches. The cost to participate in the multi-sports and/or table tennis course is £18 for the first child and £14 for the second child from the same immediate family. To register for these courses, contact Banbridge District Council’s Leisure and Development Department on 4066 0605.

Children aged 8 and over can also take part in an angling course at Dromore Community Centre between 10am and 3pm from Monday 1 July until Wednesday 3 July. The cost to participate is £10 per child. For further details and to register contact Dromore Community Centre on 9269 9070.
