Six pointer victory for U12s

Banbridge Town U12s 4

Lower Maze Youth 1

BANBRIDGE U12s put four past bottom club Lower Maze Youth to grab all six points on offer and keep up the pressure at the top.

The winning margin could have been much greater had it not been for over exuberant attacking that resulted in numerous off-side decisions.

Lower Maze Youth to their credit made a game of it and got just reward for their efforts with a goal late on.

Banbridge had the lion’s share of possession throughout and went ahead in 10th minute when Brian Johnston scored from close range having been played in by Scott Armstrong.

Brian then turned provider, releasing Andrew Wilson in the box to rifle the ball home.

Town went three up just before half-time, Brian Johnston latching onto a Calum Adamson through ball to power through and tuck the ball low into the corner of the net from just inside the area.

It was not until the final quarter of the game that Banbridge increased their lead, this time a fine sole effort by midfielder D’aire McCluskey as he carried the ball from deep to beat the offside trap.

Lower Maze Youth completed the scoring with a consolation goal.
