Showjumping Championships coming to Eglinton

EGLINTON Equestrian Centre hosts the 27th Northern Indoor Showjumping Championships this weekend.

Competitions begin at Eglinton tomorrow (Thursday) and continue until Sunday evening. Entries for this years show are as big as ever and extra temporary stabling has been hired in to accommodate the huge numbers attending.

The show has a packed programme with novice and young rider events throughout the weekend indeed most of these classes have well in excess of one hundred entries each. The top 24 in each section will qualify for Sunday's championships.

The feature events of the show are the Irish Masters, scheduled to start at 9pm on Saturday and following the very exciting championship classes throughout Sunday the Eglinton Grand Prix will start at 6pm.

This is a great spectator event, real edge of the seat excitement and one not to be missed. Sunday's Grand Prix is part of the All Ireland Autumn Grand Prix league and with 5000 euros and league points on offer will be a highly competitive affair.

Former Grand Prix winners Linda Courtney and Harry Marshall are among the starters for this year's event.

Admission for spectators is free and this is sure to be fantastic entertainment for all the family.
