Seconds beaten by bottom club

DROMORE Ladies Seconds suffered a midweek defeat to bottom of the table Pegasus.

From the starting whistle Dromore were under pressure from the battling visitors with the opposition creating attacking play inside Dromore’s half. Pegasus were rewarded early on with a goal.

Going 1-0 down so early in the match didn’t dampen Dromore’s spirit who kept their heads up and had a long period of positive play with Gemma Porter transferring the ball from the defence onto the attack.

Both Michaela Neill and Nicole Laverty made advancing runs on the left and on into the circle and a strong pass to Lauren Pedlow allowed her to have a shot on target only to be saved by the goal keeper.

With Dromore having marginally more possession of the ball could only result in more attacking play which was due fully rewarded with a plenty corner. A well worked corner saw another strike on target which was pushed wide by the goalkeeper. Dromore came close again on the stroke of halftime with Ana Clarke hitting the post after a period of open play. The half time score line read 1-0 to Pegasus.

From the restart Pegasus was on the attack immediately and once again Dromore’s defence were under great pressure and again Dromore conceded. The score line read 2-0 to Pegasus midway through the second half.

Dromore were unlucky late on in the game to see a Natasha Murray strike saved. Gemma Porter had an outstanding game at centre back.
