Banbridge Ladies Seconds faced local rivals Lurgan in the second match of the 2013/14 season.
Keen to build on last weeks performance against Dromore, Bann started the game strongly with only victory in mind.
An early short corner strike from Kate Cunningham unfortunately crossed the goal line high but certainly showed Banbridge’s potential for the rest of the match.
Nadene Black scored the opener picking up a rebound and firing the ball into the net from a tight angle.
Naomi Matthews, stepping into goals again, played a great match denying Lurgan again attempt on the Banbridge goal.
The defensive team worked extremely well together, with great passing and co-ordination from JoAnne Lyttle, Jess Hassan, Jade Kennedy, Joanna Palnoch and Kate Cunningham.
Fifteen minutes in Sarah Gamble rounded off a uncontested solo run aiming the ball into the left hand side of the goal. That left the score at half time 2-0 to Bann.
Banbridge welcomed home Sarah Quinn, whose determination in the middle of the pitch caused real problems for the Lurgan attack.
Nadene claimed her second of the match nudging the ball over the line after the Lurgan keeper deflected a great first time shot from Victoria Berry.
Cathy Rees made great use of her speed, easily out pacing the Lurgan midfield.
As the half progressed Bann kept mounting on the pressure, with great attacking play from Aileen Lawson, Megan Whan and Sarah Anderson.
Ashleigh Mitchell was unlucky not to capitalise from some great offensive play.
Sarah Gamble added a second goal to her tally after a cool headed one on one with the keeper.
The score at the full time whistle was Banbridge 4, Lurgan 0, meaning it was a well earned three points.
