Rory Leonard wins the Lee Valley Scratch

This was a very prestigious competition with practically all the top amateur golfers in Ireland taking part.

The par of the course is 72 and Rory scores over the three rounds were 70, 65 and 72. This gave him a nine under par total of 207 and he won by three shots from Paul Dunne (Greystones).

Rory was delighted with his form as he headed for Rosses Point for the West of Ireland Amateur Championship.

Rory’s season could hardly have got off to a better start. Everyone at Banbridge Golf Club will be watching his progress with great interest.
