Rebecca close to upsetting top seed at Nottingham event

Rebecca Woods gave top seed Chloe Hunt a few palpitations in Nottingham as the Lisburn 14 year old took the opening set of their girls singles clash 21-11.

Playing some of her best badminton she was well on the way to causing an upset as as the match entered its later stages before the Warwickshire player got back into the game and took the second 21-17.

In the deciding set the Alpha player continued her onslaught and will have been rueing how she had not been able to secure what would have been a mammoth victory for her as Miss Hunt snatched a 22-20 victory after some 43 minutes.
