Rangers go marching on

SCARVA marched majestically to an emphatic home victory at Scarva Park on Saturday.

The launch pad for Saturday’s success was two strikes from Colin Brown, the central midfielder’s first two goals for the village club.

He fired the game’s opening goal into the roof of the net from close range but a deflected goal put visitors Craigavon City back on level terms.

Brown restored Scarva’s lead with an exquisite strike, unleashing an unstoppable volley that screeched into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Having gone in at half-time a goal ahead, Rangers dominated the second half and could easily have won by an even more convincing margin.

Stephen Hendron scored from close range to put the home side 3-1 ahead. He then put the game firmly beyond the reach of the visitors with a strike of sensational quality to make it 4-1.

He was outside the penalty area on the left of the pitch when he sent the ball arrowing into the top corner of the goal past a helpless Craigavon City keeper.

A Dean McCammon header sealed another impressive performance from Scarva.

Man of the Match – Colin Brown.

Scarva Rangers Reserves were defeated 4-0 away to Lurgan Town Reserves. The best performers for the local reserve side were Wayne Jordan and Alex Hammond.
