League leaders Ballymore Inn had to settle for a point at O’Reillys B last week.

O’Reillys B 4

Ballymore Inn 4

Many people said this Ballymore Inn side were just going to steamroller their way to the title this season but that theory was shot out of the water on Tuesday night as they had to sweat in the final doubles match to gain a point.

O’Reillys have yet to taste victory this season but this second draw in three keeps them within touching distance of the top.

It all started so well for the visitors as Adam Hunniford, Jamie Brown and Jason Crozier won three of the first four frames with B Moss registering O’Reillys only win.

Then the worm turned as Stevie Mc Kay, A Mc Grath and the doubles pair of B Moss/E Mc Kay all won to give the home side the lead going into the final frame.

Jamie Brown and Christopher Lee held their nerve and secured the point that keeps the Ballymore undefeated.

Mulhollands B 5

Railway 3

The Railway suffered their first defeat of the campaign against a very good Mulhollands side.

It was the perfect start for the home side as R Jardine and M Jardine took the first two frames.

George Mc Millan stopped the train in the third but the two frame advantage was restored by M Mc Cormack. Neill Smith chipped in with a win but the result was put beyond doubt in the following two frames by S Wilson and the pairing of P Winters and M Jardine.

Market Bar B 1

Cullens 7

What has happened to The Market this season? Last year this very same team held their own in a tough division, but it was disastrous from frame one as Tam Bell showed his class and he was quickly followed by five of his team mates to produce a master class in team pool.

It is definitely a re-grouping session for the Market as they try to kick start their season with a small matter of Mulhollands visit this week.

Red Star 8 Anglers B 0

Wow, that was the feeling in Higgins’ on Tuesday night as The Red Star got their season rolling with a demolition of the Anglers B team , there is not much you can write about a result like this only to say nothing went the way of the visitors.

Anglers A 5 Bus Bar 3

The Anglers A kept up their steady start to the season with a victory over a previously undefeated Bus Bar team.

The home side took four of the opening five frames and secured victory in the first doubles match to end a good night for BJ Mc Annarney and his troops.
