P7 Pupils, Leah Bethel and Daniel Mulholland, took three of the top medals with Leah becoming 2014 Double Irish Minor Schools Swimming Champion and Daniel becoming Irish Minor Schools silver medallist.
The Championships brought together the top young swimmers from Schools throughout Ireland.
Leah, already a Double Ulster Schools Champion and reigning Double Irish Schools Champion, took Gold medals in both her backstroke and freestyle events while Daniel, himself the reigning Irish Minor Schools Freestyle Champion, took freestyle silver in an extremely close finish and also qualified for the final in the butterfly event. Both Leah and Daniel train long hours each week in their pursuit of swimming excellence and are thoroughly deserving of their achievements. Their success places Pond Park as having the top individual swimming success in NI at the 2014 Irish Minor Schools Swimming Championships.
