It looked as if everything was going to plan for Shepherds but the Tavern hit back with three wins of their own to give them the advantage going into the final frame. Kris McStay, Ronnie Weir and James Lavery were all winners.

The pressure was now on the shoulders of Stevie Rudd but he was well up for it and secured the point which guaranteed runners up spot for the Banbridge side in the league.

Anglers B 3

Imperial Inn 5

A very strong performance from the Imperial inflicted a very rare home defeat for the Anglers.

The away side got off to a blistering start by taking the opening three frames from Christopher Chambers, Jonathan Lyttle and John McCahon.

The Anglers steadied the ship when C McAvoy and M Gribben pulled it back to 3-2, but two of the Imperial stalwarts were up in the following two frames and Ronnie Weir and Ivor Wilson made sure of the victory. E McKinley finished off the scoring.

Market Bar 5

The Market won this tight local derby match but had to win the final three frames to do so.

Mulholland’s found themselves 3-2 up as K Johnston, R Coady and B Hawthorne were all winners in their matches. M Jardine and A Moore made sure the Market were still in the game with their wins.

Great credit must be given to the Hawthorn for their enthusiasim to complete their league fixtures by travelling to the Halfway House but alas they just came up short with a narrow defeat.

The Halfway got off to a flyer when D McAlinden, W McAlinden and B Taggart gave them a 3-0 lead. The Hawthorn then sprung into life as they hit three in row themselves through M Ward, Robin Hills and J Christian.

But unfortunately that was it for the visitors as A McCartan and D Mulligan were in great form for the Halfway and secured the points.
