Pete and Niall are the pick of the anglers at Islandderry

The annual Teggart Memorial competition in aid of Cystic Fibrosis was held on Saturday at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore.

There was a great turnout for both the fly fishing and the bait fishing with anglers, catching plenty of fish and enjoying the day.

The heaviest bag of 3threetrout in fly fishing was won by Lisburn angler Pete Cole with a three fish bag for 10lb7, second place went to Lurgan angler Brendan Baine with three fish for 10lb2 while Belfast angler Liam Brunty took 3rd place with a 3 fish bag weight of 10lb1.

The bait competition was won by 11 year old Niall McComb from Bessbrook with his 4 fish bag weight of 5lb5.

Second place went to Declan Teggart from Belfast with a four fish bag weight of 5lb4 and third place went to Belfast man Tony Hall with four fish weight of 5lb.

A great day was had by all with just under £500 being raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Charity.

The Teggart family and Islandderry Fishery would like to say a big thank you to all who donated prizes, supplied food and generally supported the competition in any way and helped in raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

The next event at the fishery is the Islandderry Trout Anglers fly fishing competition in aid of PIPS suicide prevention charity and will be taking place at Islandderry Fishery on Saturday 9th May.
