Perry sets new rankings record

BANBRIDGE squash player Madeline Perry has moved up to number three in the latest world rankings.

Perry was previously ranked seventh in the world. The improvement means she occupies the highest ever position held by an Irish player in the sport.

The Banbridge woman has reached two finals recently including the KL Open decider, which she lost to the world number one Nicol David of Malaysia.

Perry will be the top seed for the Cannon Kirk Irish Open on 11 April. Dubliner Ashling Blake is 26th in the latest rankings.
