Paul McAleavey is the latest winner of the Sunday Sweep.

Sunday 17th July

The Sunday Sweep has a penchant for coming up with a variety of different winners.

Paul McAleavey won this one and he is the 20th different winner this year.

Mel Hamill was third in the Sunday Sweep.

The record is 37 different winners in one calendar year. That was in 2012.

Could it be bettered this year? Who knows?

The “2’s” pot was divided between B.J. McAnarney and John Poots.

1st- Paul McAleavey (6) Nett 31.

Mel Hamill was third in the Sunday Sweep.

2nd- Carson Clegg (17) Nett 31.5.

3rd- Mel Hamill (16) Nett 32.

Monday 18th July

Clifford Thompson is enjoying a real “purple patch” during this month of July. He has won the high section on Captain’s Day and in the Coburn Cup. His handicap was cut and he went on to win the middle section last Saturday in the Fred Daly Memorial.

He has finished runner-up in the Monday Sweep and, not content with that, he has just gone out and won this Monday Sweep.

Enjoy your good fortune while it lasts, Clifford!

Michael Robinson had the only “2” on the day and he reaped the rewards.

1st- Clifford Thompson (17) 32 points.

2nd- Brendan Magee (28) 31 points.
