O’Reilly’s stun hosts with whitewash in hunt for league title

Well if this result does not show O’Reillys intent in their chase for the league title nothing ever will.

You can count on one finger the amount of times the Dromore side suffered a whitewash at home and Owen Cull commented on how well organised the Banbridge side came accross and with their nearest rivals once again dropping a point at home it was a great night all around for the Peggys’ loaning team.

Michael Ward, Liam Gribben and company gave the visitors a perfect start but all eyes were on Mark Kinneen to see if he could keep up his perfect 100% winning start to the season and with a little help from his opponent he did just that to keep him top of the hot potters league with Tony Greenan breathing down his neck only one behind.

This result stretched O’Reillys lead at the top to two points but that could all change on Tuesday night as a tricky visit to Gilford lies ahead for them.

Higgins‘ 4

Mulhollands A 4

Once again Higgins’ drew a match from a winning position and lost ground on the leaders.

The home side took the opening two frames and looked comfortable as Tony Greenan and Gareth Moody gave them a nice cushion.

Noel Mearas’ erratic season continued as Gary Crawford took out a very impressive finish to kick start Mulhollands match he was quickly followed by Issac Mulholland and we had a level match.

The home side re-grouped and opened up a two frame advantage once again as Aaronn Buchannon and Brendan Davis both won their match up’s.

With just the doubles it left the home side needing just one of the two to claim the points but as in previous matches this did not come about as Mulhollands dug deep and won both games.

Coach 7 Imperial 1

The Coach joined Higgins’ in second spot with a comprehensive win at home against the Imperial.

M Jamison actually gave the Imperial the lead but that was as good as it got for the visitors as the home side rattled off seven frames on the trot to secure the points.

You write off the Coach at your peril and they will not be far away at the end of season.

Castle Bar 3

Banbridge Legion 5

A tight match between two teams with not much to play for as far.

The Castle had a great start with S. Fitzpatrick and Colly Mc Sherry taking two of the opening three frames.

Lee Mc Cullough sandwiched their wins to give the Legion a start. Four frames on the bounce killed off this match and gave the Legion a very rare away win.
