Opening day for Dromore bowlers

THE Dromore Bowling Club celebrating their 25th year held their opening day on Saturday last.

The club President Derek Burns unfurled the flag watched by a record crowd of 50 or more bowlers.

Derek’s wife Naula delivered the first jack and bowl, declaring the green opened. T Hewitt (vice president) presented Naula with gift on behalf of the club to mark the occasion.

The President said it was very pleasing to see such a good turn out of members and welcomed the new bowlers to the club.

A points competition followed with Jean Malcomson and Robert Greer taking the prizes.

This Saturday starts the league games with the senior team at home to Balmoral and the juniors making the short trip to Lisburn to play Lagan Valley. Both games start at 2pm.
