Keith Steenson beat Paul Magee 1 up.

Ronnie Halliday beat Stephen Orr 2 up.

Seamus McGrath beat Kevin Smyth 1 up.

Jonathan Ward beat Paul Simpson.

Will Dickson beat Sherwin Curran 4 and 3.

Neil Clydesdale beat William Malcolmson 2 and 1.

Shane Bell beat Danny O’Boyle.

Sean Mc Greevey beat Mark Carson 6 and 4.

The line-up for the quarter-finals looks like this:

Keith Steenson versus Ronnie Halliday.

Seamus McGrath versus Jonathan Ward.

Will Dickson versus Neil Clydesdale.

Shane Bell versus Sean McGreevey.

In matchplay, the odds favour the low handicapper. The low men in these four games are Keith Steenson, Jonathan Ward, Neil Clydesdale and Shane Bell.

My prediction would be that three of them will win and one will be beaten. I wouldn’t dare to name names.
