O'Neill Cup contested

THE weekend competition at the Brown Trout was for the O’Neill Cup.

It was played in medal format.

The winner was Alan Smyton (25) completing his round in 90 shots. After opening with nine over par 44 Alan covered the back nine with 46 blows giving him a winning total of five under net 65.

Just two points adrift in runner-up place Tom Boyd (12) opened with a first nine of two over par 37 but had to settle for 42 shots over the back nine to finish with net 67.

Third prize on offer went to Michael Kane (18) with nines of 44 and 42 netted down to 68.

Club Captain Ronnie Milliken won the gross prize with a five over par 75.

The twos kitty was shared by Jimmy Kelly and Ronnie Milliken.
