At the end of the first quarter Bann trailed by three goals.

The team appeared to start the second quarter more focussed with super defence work by GD Elaine Henry and GK Christine Cartmill.

The strong Newry defensive duo in Bann’s shooting circle also proved challenging, forcing errors by Bann’s GS Cara Malcolmson and GA Mona Lewis.

Newry took full advantage of Bann’s errors and extended their lead by six goals at the end of the quarter. Bann 8 – 14 Newry
