Mulhollands A retain league title

Both McLean Bookmakers Pool Divisions finished in a flourish recently with the very consistant Mulhollands A retaining their Premier league title in a damp squib of a final night as their opponents failed to show and with their nearest rivals playing next door as the news filtered through that Mulhollands could not be caught, the stuffing was knocked out of them and The Market Bar took full advantage of the situation to claim second spot and give Dromore a clean sweep of the prize monies.

At the other end of the table, despite a late rally, Cullens from Tandregee were confirmed relegated and face life in the first division next season.

The first division title went to the last game on the final night as The Castle struggled to finish off against a stubborn Market Bar side which gave the Imperial hope of a play off but that was not meant to be as the final black fell confirming the Gilford side as champions and promoted to the Premier league.

The Imperial had to settle for second spot and despite this had a great season also falling at the final hurdle in the First Division cup.

History was made two weeks ago as The coach won the Brendan Mc Adam Cup with the same team neuclious for the fourth decade in a row, Stephen Docherty, Thomas Moore. Mucker Mc Mullen and Raymie Lyons were members of 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and now the 10’s team to lift this top title.

The match itself did not live up to all expectations but nerves were definitely on show as The Castle Bar B team were in great form for most of the match but got an early lesson that when up against premier opponents that one slip up could be costly.

It can not be emphasised enough what an achievement this is for The Coach.
