Gary Gibson from Ballygowan on the Bannside Pallets and Suzuki, and Richard Bird from Lisburn on the Suitor Bros Watt KTM are swapping overall wins this year, this week it was Richards turn with two wins and a second against Gary’s two seconds and a win, meaning Richard pulls three points on his rival.

Filling out the podium was wiley campaigner Larne’s Tommy Merton on the Monster Energy Watt Kawasaki, on a track which could have been designed and built just for him, the multi Champion continued his good form with two thirds and a fourth.

In contrast, Wayne Garret from Comber on the JAR by IFS Honda could only muster a fourth overall, the defending Champion has not been at his best recently, and with an Irish & an Ulster round over the next two weekends, Wayne needs to figure out what the problem is.

Fifth was Loughbrickland’s John Meara on the TMC Honda, and a superb result from young David Russell in sixth on the Russells Honda was great to see from the likeable Comber lad.
