The new 12th hole at Banbridge Golf Club was designed by golf course architect, Ken Kearney.
It was built by the club’s greens staff, ably assisted by several volunteers.
The project was supervised and directed by Noel McSherry, the current Vice-Captain of the club.
In appreciation of Noel’s contribution to course improvements and especially the construction of an impressive greenkeepers shed, the new 12th hole has been renamed ‘McSherry’s Pitch’.
And, would you believe it, the first person to score a ‘Hole in One’ at the new 12th hole was Noel’s sister-in-law, Una McSherry.
Congratulations to Una on her achievement.
