Millpark Cricket Club are looking for another giant killing when they face local rivals Laurelvale in the quarter-finals of the Junior Cup.

The Banford men have already knocked out two higher division opponents and will seek to repeat the trick this weekend.

Captain Paul McCart is confident of a good performance from his team against one of their closest rivals.

He said: “It is a big challenge as they are a league above us and they beat us twice last year when we were in that league.

“But we’re unbeaten at home this season and we will have a decent side out to give them a good game.”

He continued: “We had our worst performance of the season last week in the defeat to Monaghan and we need to make sure we go out there and hold our heads high and not go out with a whimper.”
